Adjusting the settings

Note

Depending on the distance format in the Program settings > Units (see below), exceed-

ing the speed limit is measured and announced in kilometres per hour (metric) or miles

per hour (imperial). However, the actual measurement for exceeding the speed limit is

always based on the distance format stated in the map material and valid in the respec-

tive country: For example, the measurement for exceeding the speed limit in England is

made in miles even if you have selected km for the distance format.

Settings assistant

Using this button you can start the settings assistant, which also appears when you first start up

your navigation device. The settings assistant helps you select appropriate settings for your navi-

gation device: You adjust the settings in steps by navigating between the setting options using the

and keys. The settings assistant can be opened at any time and closed using the but-

ton. The settings made so far overwrite the settings that were previously valid for your navigation

device.

Adjusting the Quick menu settings

The Quick menu is available by pressing the button located in the lower right corner of the

map view, giving you direct access to functions otherwise only available using the conventional

menus.

You can assign the option City to one of the Quick menu buttons, for example: In future you will

jump directly to the city input field on the Enter address screen, when you tap the button. You

could also assign, for example, the additional MP3 Player application to another Quick menu but-

ton in order to call this application up directly. Doing this allows you to configure up to four fre-

quently used functions and call them up quickly using the Quick menu buttons.

Proceed as follows to assign the desired functions to the buttons in the Quick menu:

1. Tap on the button Quick menu settings in the toolbar in the Quick menu. A message then

appears, prompting you to select one of the screen keys to change its function.

2. Tap any button to set up a new function assignment or to change the existing assignment.

3. On the screen Quick menu settings, tap the button for the main group belonging to the desired

function. Choose from the following main groups:

o Destination entry

o Route information

o Other applications
